It's great that we have this FPS boost option as a stop-gap, but resolution should not be a tradeoff for that on the Series X. Note this trick does not work for other mods, only this kind.ДЇO76 is not an old game, it is a GAAS title with new content about to launch very soon and a rather expensive monthly/yearly subscription option. If it leaves quick resume or your force quit, then follow the steps again. So as long as it's in your quick resume queue it will stay activated. In order to use the mod but still get achievements, do the following:Д®nable the mod -> Quit back to main menu and let it do the data reload -> Go to dash and force quit the game -> Restart game -> Once in main menu, go to your mod load order and disable the FPS mod. There is one on there called something like '60FPS for Series S|X' - I noticed some variations including one that also adds 90 FOV, I tried this and it still seemed to perform fine but YMMV. So for Fallout 4 use the mod instead for now IMO, unless you are gonna be sensitive to the odd sub-60 drop (I have VRR). They should've compromised with 1440p for the FPS boost if they're worried about performance. Yes, there will be drops in some areas but not so bad that I think it's worth dropping from 4k to 1080p. I am not sure why they did this since the mod runs well at 60fps without reducing the resolution. The game still looks 'clean' due to its TAA and there's almost no jaggies, but you can tell. The run to riverwood was smooth and razor sharp.ДЇor Fallout 4 the resolution is reduced a lot with FPS boost, I didn't pixel count but I am guessing it's 1080p. Later when you go outside again it's also fine. The whole intro is janky until you get inside where you grab your first weapon. At first i had some weird jank on the wagon ride but I think this is just Skyrim jank because I was seeing the same thing when I switched to the mod (making sure to disable FPS boost when I did so). I tried Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE and compared the FPS boost to the available unlock FPS mods.ДЇor Skyrim FPS boost works great.
